Activities:

Year 2021:
  1. Guest Lecture on “Tobacco and Health” by Dr Vandana Joshi ENT Specialist from PACE Group was organised on 02/06/2021.
  2. CME on “Lifestyle and Diabetes: Are You Aware? was organised on 05/02/2021.
  3. WHO Day was observed on 07/04/2021. Poster competition was organised for MBBS students. Total 90 students participated in this competition.
  4. Adoption of Nanoli Village for prevention of diseases and promotion of health. Family Health Survey was conducted by First MBBS students on 09/07/2021 in Nanoli village.
  5. MIMER Maval Jan Arogya Yojana was launched by Hon. Executive Director Dr Suchitra Nagare. Distribution of health cards under MIMER Maval Jana Aarogya Yojana and MIMER Jana Aarogya Yojana.
  6. Management and implementation of Internship orientation programme was carried out for the institute on 27 th 0ct 2021.
Year 2020:
  1. Guest Lecture was organised on “Acute Flaccid Paralysis, MR and VPD Surveillance” on 08/07/20. Dr Chetan Khade SMO delivered the lecture for faculty, residents and interns.
  2. Organ Donation week was observed from 7th to 13th September 2020. Essay and Poster Competition were held for the students. Online lecture on Organ Donation was also conducted.
Year 2019:
  1. Guest lecture was organised on “National Programme: Prevention and control of Cancer, Diabetes, CAD and Stroke was organised on 30/01/2019. The lecture was given by Dr Amol Wankhede WHO Consultant.
  2. Guest Lecture was organised on “Measles, Rubelle and VPD Surveillance and Routine Immunisation on update” on 31/07/2019. Dr Chetan Khade SMO delivered the lecture for faculty, residents and interns.
  3. Awareness Drive for Communicable Diseases was organised on 30 and 31 August 2019. A street Play was conducted by MBBS students and Interns for the community.
  4. 4 World Elderly Day was observed on 01/10/2019. The theme was “The Journey to Age Equality”. Essay Competition was organised for students and interns.
  5. World Mental Health Day was observed on 10/10/2019.Theme was “Suicide prevention”. Poster competition was organised for students and interns.
  6. “Life Skill Workshop” was also organised by Dr Aneesh Bhat HOD Dept, Psychiatry on this occasion.
  7. A Street Play was organised on occasion of “World Diabetes Day on 14/11/2019 by Second MBBS Students. The theme was “Women and Diabetes- Our Right to a Healthy Future”.
  8. A Street Play was organised on occasion of “World Population Day” on 11/07/2019 by Third MBBS Students. It was presented in OPD Campus and Talegaon Railway Station.
  9. World Tuberculosis Day was observed on 24th March 2019. This year as a part of activities for observation of World Tuberculosis day, a quiz competition for undergraduate medical students was held. This was a Inter Medical Collegiate Quiz Competition and all the medical colleges in Pune participated in this quiz. The subject of the quiz was “Tuberculosis”. The quiz was organized on 26th March by Dept. of Community Medicine in collaboration with District Tuberculosis Office, Pune. Teams from six Medical Colleges participated in the Quiz.

On the day of the quiz, an elimination round was carried out and 04 teams were selected for the final quiz competition. At the outset there was opening ceremony. Dr.Darade, District Tuberculosis officer was the Chief Guest. Dr.R.P Gupta, Principal, Dr. Arun Jamkar, Director PG & Research, Dr. Derek D’souza, Director, NBCIC were also present on the dias. Then the actual quiz was conducted in 06 rounds. Dr. Mrs. Kakarani, Dr. Mrs. Patnaik and Dr. Derek D’souza were the judges for the quiz. Dr. Prajakta Kadale, PG Student was the Quiz Master. The Team from Armed Force Medical College, Pune won the quiz competition. Teams from Bharti Vidyapith Medical College, Pune , Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College Pune , SKN Medical College, Pune, secured 2nd, 3rd and 4th ranks respectively.

The winners were given cash prize, Trophy and a book as token of appreciation. The books were sponsored by J.P Publication.

The quiz was organized under the guidance of Dr. S.V.Chincholikar, Professor & Head, Dept. Of Community Medicine .

Year 2018
    1. World AIDS Day 2018 was observed on 01/12/2018.The theme of this year is “Know your status”.
    2. World health day of the year 2018 was celebrated in MIMER Medical College. The theme of this year is ‘Universal health care: everyone, everywhere’.
    3. Breastfeeding week (August 1/8/18 to 7/8/18 )was observed at MIMER Medical College. The department of Obstetrics and Gynecology along with the department of Community Medicine , enthusiastically performed various plays, dramas and videos to bring about awareness of breast feeding amongst mothers and caretakers.
Year 2017
  1. World women’s day was celebrated at RHTC Sudhumnbre on 08/03/2017. The theme for the year 2017 is-‘be bold for change’. Around 44 women and anganwadi workers were present.
  2. The student volunteers of NSS undertook a sapling plantation campaign to commemorate world environment day 2017 at MIMER Medical college. Taking into consideration the climate and soil conditions, a variety of saplings were planted. Each of the students adopted a sapling each. The campaign was thus aimed at creating a community of passionate tree planters and lovers who work towards preventing the loss of green cover and promoting afforestation.
  3. On occasion of National Safe Motherhood day on 11th April 2017. A camp at Tungi village near Lonavala was conducted in association with DISHA and ESSAR company. Health talk on safe motherhood was given by dr. Ashlesha Dandekar . 58 patients were seen with 34 hemoglobin examinations were done and 15 patients were referred to Dr. B.S.T.R. Hospital, Talegaon.
  4. World Malaria day (25th April) was celebrated at RHTC, Sudumbare on 26th april 2017.
  5. World no tobacco day was celebrated on 31st of May 2017, by Urban health centre of MIMER Medical college, Talegaon Dabhade. The interns posted at the UHTC went to nearby homes and informed the residents of the ill effects of tobacco and the benefits of quitting, they were informed of the assistance that can be provided by their family and our hospital on their quest to rehabilitate their life.   6. WHO, ICD – 10 international classification of diseases, a half day workshop was conducted by the dept. of Community Medicine on 28 July 2017 between 1:30pm to 4:00 pm at MIMER Medical college, Talegaon (D), Pune in association with central bureau of health intelligence (CBHI), regional office, Bhopal, ministry of health and family welfare, Government of India.
  7. A health camp was held for women of reproductive age group in village budhwadi. This was in collaboration with ‘DISHA’ an NGO working with self-help groups. 36 women were examined and their hemoglobin levels were determined. Dietary counselling and medical treatment for anemia was given. 10 women were referred for specialist care to Dr. B.S.T.R hospital.
