The institute originally affiliated to the University of Pune, is now under Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Nashik, and is recognized by Medical Council of India now by the NMC

The field of medicine is one where science and social commitments walk hand in hand. In order to fulfill the dream of creating such committed doctors, MAEER’S MIT Pune, established, Maharashtra Institute of Medical Education and Research (MIMER) Medical College in the year 1995 at Talegaon Dabhade, near Pune, India.

MAEER MIT Pune’s MIMER Medical College, Talegaon Dabhade envisions creating dedicated Medical professionals. Who are globally competent, morally responsible and socially committed and highly dedicated to the noble cause of providing all possible healthcare services for the poor and downtrodden masses of the maval region in particular and society in General, with a humane and holistic approach.

History in Brief

Dr. B. S. alias Bhausaheb Sardesai established Talegaon General Hospital in 1925 with the vision to provide excellent health care at an affordable cost. It was his dream to start a medical college at Talegaon . He along with his team collaborated with MAEER , M.I.T. Pune to establish the medical college. The hospital is renamed after him as Dr. Bhausaheb Sardesai Talegaon Rural Hospital in order to cherish his memories. The hospital is located in the same campus of the college.

The Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi has blessed this hospital in 1945.

The few of honorable personalities who have also visited the institutions such as, Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve, Dr. Sushila Nair, Sir. M. Vishwesharaya, Shri Yashwant Rao Chavan, Shri Shankar Rao Chavan, The then Prime Minister Shri Chandra Shekhar, & Union Minister Shri. Sharad Pawar.
