Department of Anaesthesia

The Department of Anesthesiology forms a key link between the surgical fraternities and the patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures. All clinical departments are anchored to our specialty. Keeping pace with the development of medical sciences, Anaesthesia services are being provided for a wide variety of surgical cases. These include general surgery, pediatric surgery, obstetrics & gynecology including family planning cases, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, orthopedics, oral and facio-maxilllary surgery. Undergraduates though have limited exposure to this branch, they are introduced to basics of anesthesiology, airway management and vascular access procedures. The Department currently has qualified, dedicated teaching & non-teaching staff members. Besides teaching, faculty is involved in conducting various CPR workshops as well as various research activities. The department has recently received approval for two MD Anesthesia PG seats from year 2021.
