Forensic Medicine
The subject of Forensic Medicine brings Law and Medicine together for preparing medical students for their medical, legal and social duties in medical profession. This department was established in 1995 and developing since then. The Department is teaching, both theoretical and practical aspects of Forensic Medicine, Medical Jurisprudence & Medical Ethics as well as Toxicology to M.B.B.S. students during their Second year and Third year of the Course. The aim is to produce a Physician/Medical Practitioner who is well informed regarding the law in relation to medical practice and is capable of helping the Criminal Justice System in disbursement of justice. The department has a dedicated team of teachers who are well qualified and experienced. The department has adequate space with faculty rooms, admin office, 1 demonstration room, and research lab. The department has an impressive Museum of more than 175 sq.ft displaying specimens of bones, weapons, poisons, X-rays, photographs, models and charts for educating students and other visitors.
