Achievement Community Medicine

Departmental Achievements:

  1. Dr Chincholikar was invited for Mula- khat on Akash Wani Pune. The interview with Dr Chincholikar was relayed all over Akash Wani Kendra in Maharashtra on 23/08/2024. The Topic was importance of immunization.
  2. Family Adoption Program is being implemented successfully as per NMC guidelines for MBBS students last 5 years. Its a proud moment for the college that It started family adoption program well before one year before the NMC implemented it .The first adopted village was Nanoli Turf Chakan in Maval Taluka, .
  3. World Tuberculosis Day TB quiz was organized for all medical colleges in Pune on 24 th March 2025. 7 Medical colleges from Pune participated. AFMC Medical College, Pune received 1st Prize, MIMER Medical College, Talegaon Dabhade 2nd prize and Dr. D.Y.
    Patil Medical College, Pimpri, Pune 3rd prize. World TB day is observed by holding quiz and street play since last 6 years for all medical colleges in Pune. Department has organized Intercollegiate Street Play Competition on World TB Day (24th March 2024). Team of Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical college was the winner. The event is being sponsored by DTO , Pune.
  4. 12th Annual Research Conference was organized by Dept of Community Medicine, Department of Biochemistry and Department of Ophthalmology. It was a tremendous success as Dr. Natarajan a Padmashree awardee was called upon to deliver a key note address.
    Earlier ,Department of Community Medicine together with department of Pharmacology organized 6th annual research conference in the year 2017also . The theme of the conference was “Prevention: Positive attitude towards health” Maj. Gen. Dr. Vijay Tilakh the eminent personality from Community Medicine gave the key note address.
  5. CME on “Lifestyle and Diabetes: Are You Aware? was organized on 05/02/2021.One credit point was awarded to all MIMER staff who
    participated as delegate.
  6. It’s a proud moment for the Dept that 12 ICMR STS project have been approved by ICMR, Delhi in the last 7 years. The thesis of a postgraduate has been sanctioned grant by ICMR. Two projects were approved by MUHS for short-term grants.
  7. Dr. Chincholikar H.O.D. of Community Medicine was invited as Reviewer for Indian Journal of Community health, a highly indexed journal approved by NMC, PMRR Journal indexed in DOAJ and Amerikan Journal of Tropical Medicine and hygiene.
  8. Dr. S V Chincholikar, H.O.D. of Community Medicine, was invited as chairperson for CME at AFMC, Pune, on 15 th June 2024 as well as MHIAPSM conference at MGM, Navi Mumbai in January 2024. Almost all professors of the Dept were invited as chairperson for National conference representing MIMER. Dr Madura Ashturkar was invited as chairperson in national conference at AIIMS Hyderabad.
  9. Dr. Mandar Chandrachood ,Professor in Community Medicine, sent his research publication for Patent. Application has been accepted on 24 Jan 2025.The patent filed was regarding Use of “SCURTAINS” / “LLICs” i.e., Sub/Supra Long-Lasting Insecticidal Curtains as an Appropriate Technology for Prevention of Mosquito-Borne Diseases. It is awaiting request for examination.
  10. Dr Maya Kshirsagar, Associate Professor, wrote a chapter for the book published essentials of Geriatrics. The chapter is Diabetes and Hypertension in old age. It was published by innovative publication.
  11. Dr. Anand Bhide, Associate Professor, has been granted Patent for Robotic plaque Identification apparatus. Application has been accepted. Incidentally 10 persons were registered along with Dr Anand Bhide for same.
  12. Internship orientation programme for all the three Fresh repeater and FMGs batches was well organized by Internship in charge ,Dr Aastha Pandey and Dr Maya Kshirsagar and Dr Ashlesha madam. Internship meeting for mentors and mentees was held in the Department of Community Medicine and Intern mentors were told about DHFC Course. Mentees were also explained about DHFC course.
  13. Summer Internship Program (which is run by MUHS Nashik) was carried out effectively by the three vertical heads of Community Medicine. Dr. Madhura Ashturkar, Dr Ashlesha Dandekar and Dr Swati Raje from 21/05/2025 to 04/06/2025 for the students registered for Summer Internship program.
  14. Three staff of Department of Community Medicine completed the advance course in medical education Dr. Madhura Ashturkar, Dr Mandar Chandrachood and Dr Maya Kshirsagar which is a rare feet achieved by Department.
  15. Dr Kulkarni Surendra was the vaccination in charge for COVID vaccination center in MIMER Medical College. In fact all the staff of
    Community Medicine was involved in covid prevention activities run by college and hospital. Dr. Pramod Giri ,PG student, received COVID worrier award for working during COVID pandemic. Vaccination of 1st MBBS students has been started and will be finished after the third dose. The vaccination is being carried out since last three years .
  16. All special health days including, World AIDS day, World population day, World health day, World Diabetes Day were observed by the dept
    with great energy. Street plays, poster competitions, health talk was organized to observe the days.
  17. PGs and all teaching staff gave Guest lecture on “Health related issues” in almost all colleges of Talegaon Dabhade. Appreciation from
    people and principal was there. First Prize awarded to PG Resident Dr. Aniket Mathesul in Research Paper category in International Medical Conference ‘Respirare’ at BJ Government Medical College, Pune.
  18. Guest lectures of renowned personalities like Director of Health services, Judicial member of Pune police complaint authority, and W.H.O. consultants were organized by the Department throughout the last five years.
  19. Anti addiction campaign for Tobacco and related products has been carried out in majority of schools and colleges in Talegaon Dabhade with collaboration with Dental Dept.
  20. Guest lectures of renowned personalities like Director of Health services, Judicial member of Pune police complaint authority, and W.H.O . consultants were organized by the Department throughout last five years.
  21. Health camps were organized at UHTC and RHTC where diagnosed Patients were referred to MIMER Hospital.
  22. The department of Community Medicine has well established RHTC with 14 adopted villages under the able leadership of Dr Anand Bhide and functioning UHTC under Dr Ashlesha Dandekar Madam to provide primary health care and health education to the people in the
    surrounding areas.
  23. Department has actively involved in implementation of MIMER Maval Jana Aarogya yojana and MIMER Jana Aarogya Yojana for providing
    Health care at discounted rates.
  24. Dr Chincholikar, H.O.D. of Community Medicine is guiding 2 PG students and 4 ph.D students now. Out of 4 PhD students, synopsis of
    two students is ready to go for approval of MUHS. Dr Sanjeev Chincholikar ,Professor and Head of Dept is a Recognized PhD guide by
    MUHS Nashik.
  25. The dept staff is trained for following activities.

a) Dr Chincholikar H.O.D. of Community Medicine worked as Centre In charge.
b) Dr Aastha pandey , professor, has worked as CAP custodian.
c) Dr Madura Ashturkar, professor, has also worked as CAP custodian
d) Dr Mandar Chandrachood professor, has worked as Senior supervisor.
e) Dr Maya Kshirsagar, Associate Professor has worked as Assistant CAP custodian.

2. ADMISSION
Majority of staff has worked for admission cell of our college. Dr Surendra Kulkarni is the in- charge for admission cell while Dr Aastha Pandey is a member.

3. NAAC
All teaching staff of Department is involved directly or indirectly in various criterions of NAAC.
