Department of Otorhinolaryngology established in 1995 is one of the oldest functioning departments of MIMER Medical College. The main purpose of setting up Department of E.N.T was to teach undergraduate M.B.B.S students and to strengthen the healthcare services of rural population of Maval taluk, by providing quality and affordable services at their doorstep. The department has been headed by various senior faculties through these years and has seen a phenomenal growth and development. This department has now developed into state of the art Audiological, Microlaryngeal, Rhinoplastic, Endoscopic and Microear surgical institute. Our Medical Director and Patron Prof. Dr Virendra Ghaisas is a famous and well known Rhinoplasty surgeon.
Our pinnacle of achievement is the sanctioning of three MS(Otorhinolaryngology) Degree seats by the National medical Commission N.M.C in the year 2021. Every alternate year we host an international Rhinoplasty workshop providing training opportunities for young surgeons throughout India in the avenue of Plastic surgeries of the Nose. The Department of Otorhinolaryngology, MIMER Medical College is actively involved in research activities and is a forerunner in postgraduate education in surgical Sciences. The department has stared implementing Competency Based Curriculum for undergraduate and postgraduate students. We have an departmental best practice of collaborating with many institutions of excellence via of Memorandum of Understanding for international exposure, surgical training, externships, faculty exchanges and opportunities for our Postgraduate students and to ensure that our young budding surgeons get the best surgical education.
