Departmental Achievement

  1. The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology is proud to have a LaQshya and Manyata accredited labor room and operating theater. The labor room staff is expertly trained to handle all labor room emergencies, ensuring that faculty, residents, and staff, work together to provide a compassionate environment for patients.
  2. We are dedicated to enhancing our skills, particularly in endoscopy. Each year, the department hosts an endoscopy workshop, which initially targeted postgraduate students but has since evolved to include advanced laparoscopy and training for gynecologists in neighboring areas. Esteemed experts from across the state are invited to lead the masterclass. To support this initiative, we have acquired advanced laparoscopy equipment to develop a state-of-the-art endoscopy unit and continue to improve our skill sets.
  3. Amrutpan, our annual breastfeeding and lactation week celebration, offers an opportunity to train nursing students, staff nurses, and doctors. We also collaborate and have social connect with ASHATAI’s and Anganwadi sevikas to create a grassroots network for spreading women’s healthcare throughout the community.
  4. Colloquium, a symposium for undergraduate students, is an innovative teaching and learning program that not only allows students to showcase their knowledge but also enhances their creativity and teamwork skills. Our students have consistently excelled in their university exams, with undergraduates frequently earning distinctions and postgraduates consistently performing well.
  5. In 2023, the department was also a key organizer of the Annual Research Conference of the institute, which featured a wide array of research presentations and engaging lectures.
  6. In Collaboration with the IAGE (Indian Association of Gynecological Endoscopists), a LIVE ENDOSCOPY SURGICAL SKILLS ENHANCEMENT WORKSHOP(EAGLE) was conducted on 21/11/19 as part of the Silver Jubilee celebration of MIMER MEDICAL COLLEGE.
    Dr. Sunita Tandulwarkar, President IAGE, started the project “EAGLE” with the thought that every aspiring Gynecologist learns Endoscopy and so did our residents. Dr. Tandulwalkar with her team of endoscopy surgeons Dr. Manish Machave, Dr. Ashish Kale, and Dr. Abhishek Chandavarkar demonstrated live surgeries and also solved the queries of the budding gynecologists. One of its kind, the 3 D laparoscopic surgeries were witnessed for the first time in Talegaon Dabhade and the whole of the Maval region.
  7. The dept of Obgy along with the Dept of physiology together organized the 4th annual research conference in November 2015 at MIMER Medical college.The theme of the conference was Women- The Center of Health. Different aspects related to women’s health were addressed upon by eminent personalities in different fields.Menopause, Bone health, Cancer prevention, Medicolegal issues,the Importance of Exercises, and Work-life balance were some of the deliberations at the conference
    The pre-congress workshop on “SMART BMI” by Dr. Shirish Patwardhan from Pune was very well appreciated by one & all. He gave very practical tips & insight about healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Vaishali Korde
  1. Dr. Vaishali Korde, Professor & HOD has been an active member of PUNE OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY SOCIETY (POGS) for the past 10 yrs. She got elected as the CLINICAL SECRETARY POGS 2019- 2020. As a clinical secretary, she actively participated in the Organizing team of many National & State Conferences.
  2. For the year 2021-22, She got elected as the GENERAL SECRETARY POGS 2019- 2020. OBGY department of MIMER Medical College congratulates her and wishes her success in her future endeavors.

​Dr. Dattatraya Gopalghare
  1. ​Dr. Dattatraya Gopalghare, Professor has been the President of Indian Medical Association Talegaon Dabhade branch since the year 2015. He was awarded the best IMA president ( Small Branch) on 16th Novemeber at MASTACON 2019 conference held at Pune. He has been successfully running IMA branch at Talegaon Dabhade and has been at the forefront for all issues related to Rights for Doctors.
  2. Life Member of Indian Association of Gynaecological Endoscopists in the year 2021.
  3. He holds a lifetime membership with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Talegaon Dabhade and POGS and plays an active role in organizing various conferences and workshops, both within the institute and in the local community, demonstrating his dedication to continuing medical education and community engagement.
  4. He has been a faculty in many national and zonal conferences and has been invited as a Speaker for many conferences.
  5. He has also been the MMC Observer in many conferences.
  6. He was awarded ‘Green world Pride of India2023 by green world club
  7. He was also awarded ‘Devdut Award’ by Rotary club of Talegaon City in 2024.
  8. He boasts an impressive surgical portfolio, having successfully performed numerous high-risk and complex procedures. Moreover, he has a passion for education and mentoring, dedicating himself to guiding and nurturing students in their academic and professional growth.
Dr. Jitendra Mane
  1. He has 27 years of distinguished service in Armed Forces. He was Professor at AFMC/ Command Hospital before retirement.
  2. He has undergone MCI recognised BCBR, ATECOM and CISP III training.
  3. Completed FOGSI training course on Colposcopy and cervical cancer prevention.
  4. He has over 17 years of teaching experience. He is MUHS recognised UG and PG teacher.
  5. Has numerous publications.
  6. He is life member of IMA, POGS and IAGE.

 

Dr. Shashikant Pawar
  1. He has an active interest in studying human psychology and fetal psychology for which he has been invited as faculty in various programs.
  2. He also has keen interest in research activities and is involved in student’s research at the institute.
  3. He has published various research papers in many national and state level journals.
  4. He also has received “LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD” for his service to the community by IMA Talegaon (D).

Dr. Sachin Vedpathak

Dr. Meenakshi Surve

Dr. Priya Bagade
      1. International Women’s Day on 8th March 2021 As a Speaker delivered Lecture , ” Health & well – being of Women”.
      2. Presented a Paper “ Clinical study of Analysis of causes of perinatal mortality in rural area ”at the 7th Annual Research Society conference organized by MIMER Medical College on 7th Dec. 2018.
      3. She is MUHS recognized Undergraduate and Post graduate teacher and has undergone MET and Research Methodology training and has cleared the Biomedical Research course exam and MSCIT as well.
      4. She has worked as Principal investigator in various research projects and has many publications to her asset.
      5. She has been Guest speakers in many CME and Conferences to name it “National Conference on Reproductive Endocrinology” by POGS etc.
      6. She has presented papers in many National and International Conferences and won prizes, the latest being 1st prize in Senior consultant category in paper presentation at 5th International Conference on “Pearls and Pitfalls in Endoscopy and ART: ENDOART 2023”
      7. Overall a teacher at heart and an ever learning student at soul.
Dr. Priya Karmani

Dr. Pranali Ghuge
      1. Presented a Paper-“ Prevalence of bacterial vaginosis in pregnancy after 20 weeks of gestation” at the 7th Annual Research Society conference organized by MIMER Medical College on 7th Dec. 2018.
      2. IMA Maharashtra state organizes Gericon 2014 hosted by IMA Talegaon participated in Scientific Paper Presentation held on 11th & 12th Oct. 2014 at Lonavala, Maharashtra.
      3. She has attended numerous workshops and conferences and worked in the organizing committee of all the programs of the department.
      4. Received certification for training in Laparoscopic Tubal sterilization from FPA India
      5. She is an active member of various committees like Feedback Committee, Condemnation Committee and NAAC Criterion 5.
      6. She is also in-charge of the undergraduate teaching of the department.
      7. She is the recipient of Durga Award from the NCP in Nigdi for her exemplary work in the field of women’s health.
Dr. Bhagyashri Pandit

Student Achievement

      1. Our UG student Asmita Deshmukh (MBBS 2017) has been awarded GOLD MEDAL at the 20th Convocation ceremony of MUHS, Nashik for securing the highest marks in Obstetrics and Gynecology in the entire state. Asmita has made Dept. of OBGY- MIMER Medical College, very proud by her remarkable achievement and has been an inspiration for other students. As teachers we are very happy and student’s achievements are priceless and reflect teacher’s efforts.
