1. S𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 from our department at the 66th Annual Conference of Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOACON) at Goa Where 𝗗𝗿. 𝗦𝘄𝗮𝗽𝗻𝗶𝗹 𝗕𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗲 (𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿) 𝗯𝗮𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱
2. Twelve presentations made at the 6th Annual Conference of Indian Medical Association (Talegaon) conducted on 5th December2021.
   I. Dr Manal Gore (JR) won FIRST PRIZE for presenting a scientific paper on treatment of non-unions using autologous bone marrow injections.
   II. Dr Kavya Iyer won the SECOND PRIZE for presenting a case report on treatment of a rare injury of Trapezium fracture using wrist arthroscopy.
3. Impressive presentations were made by Dr SagarKulthe (JR-3) & Dr. Rajiv Mundhe (Asst.Professor & A’Scopy surgeon) at the Scientific meeting of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Orthopedic Association on 23th November 2021.
4. A total of 𝗦𝗜𝗫𝗧𝗘𝗘𝗡 high quality scientific presentations were made by the faculty & PG students from Ortho. Department at the Annual Research Conference at MIMER Medical college on 19th November 2021.
   𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗘 departmental research projects won prizes in the competition that witnessed a record 110 participants from all over the country.
   I. Dr. Shrirang Godbole : 1st PRIZE (Faculty Paper)
   II. Dr. Sagar Kulthe : 3rd PRIZE (PG Student Paper)
5. US-based Journal- ‘Duke Orthopedic Journal’ published the research work done in our Department of Orthopedics, MIMER.
   Our team comprising of Dr SidheshwarThosar, Dr Santosh Borkar and Dr Prashant Kamath conducted a unique study on the treatment of delayed/non unions of long bones by a non-invasive technique ie. using the autologous bone marrow.
6. Swapnil Bhise (Asso. Professor) was elected as the SECRETARY (elect) 2020-21 of the prestigious Pune Orthopaedic Society (POS), the official academic body of all the orthopedic surgeons in and around Pune.
7. Dr. Swapnil Bhise (Asso.Prof) was invited to deliver lectures and also was an ‘Examiner’ on panel for case presentation at ‘Stimulus’, the annual PG teaching course conducted under POS at BVMC, Pune on 7th & 8th March ’20.
8. Dr Darpan Maheshgauri (Prof) & Dr Yashraj Shah (Asst.Prof) presented their research proposals at the National Research Conference, Ahmednagar on 5th March ’20, and were accepted by the MUHS for grants.
9. Dr Sameer Patil, (Asst.Professor, Ortho) successfully completed two prestigious Spine Fellowships in the UK and has now resumed full-time duties at MIMER.
10. Fellowships – Llandough Hospital, Cardiff, UKQueen’s Medical Centre, University of Nottingham, Nottingham, UK.
11. Dr Rahul Patil (JR3) and Dr.Sumit Raghute (JR3) presented ‘exam cases’ before a panel of senior orthopedic faculty and around 150 Ortho PG students from various parts of the state. It was at the 6th Pune Pediatric Orthopedic Course on 29th December, at KEM Hospital, Pune. MIMER faculty – Dr. Kamath, Dr. Borkar & Dr. Shah were among the panel of 15 senior faculty members from the city.
12. Dr. Shrirang Godbole made a ‘Journal Club Presentation’ on Pediatric Septic Hip, before a senior panel of Orthopedic Surgeons at a meeting of PCOA (Pimpri-Chinchwad Orthopedic Association) at Grand Exotica, Akurdi, (Pune) on 18th December.
13. All the PG Students and Faculty from Orthopedics made us proud by shining bright at the 8th Annual Research Society Conference of MIMER, held on 20th & 21st December 2019. Dept. of Orthopedics published 11 papers in the ARSC souvenir, out of a total number of 20 from all the other departments. SEVEN scientific paper presentations made by the PG students. Our faculty, Dr. Rajiv Munde, also presented his research work on Arthroscopy. A total of SEVEN posters presentations which were well appreciated by the judges. Dr. Ameya Nandanwar (JR2) won the Second Prize (PG) for the presentation of his research work on a unique technique of using vaccum assisted closure for compound fractures, done under the supervision of Dr. Borkar. Our youngest member, Dr. Abhilash Pawar (JR1) won the Third Prize for his scientific work presented as a poster.
14. Dept. of Orthopaedics bagged TWO PRIZES in ‘Scientific Paper Presentation’ at the Annual Conference of Indian Medical Association (TIMACON) held on 14th and 15th December 2019 at Lonavala. Dr. Shrirang Godbole was awarded the SECOND PRIZE and Dr.Ameya Nandanwar, the THIRD PRIZE.
15. Dr. Santosh Borkar (Professor) was invited as a FACULTY at the 64th Annual Conference of the Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOACON) conducted between 19th to 24th November ’19 at Kolkata.
16. Dr. Darpan Maheshgauri (Professor) was invited as a Chairman of a Medical session, at the first ‘International Conference on Bioethics in Health Sciences – Bioethicon’ at SRM Medical College, Chennai on 8th to 10th November ’19.
17. Dr. Yashraj Shah (Asst.Prof) was an ‘invited faculty’ at the prestigious 36th Annual Conference of Maharashtra Orthopedic Association, November 2019.
18. Dr. Rahul Patil and Dr. Sumit Raghute again made the institute proud by presenting research papers on the first day of the prestigious 36th Annual Conference of the Maharashtra Orthopedic Association at Kolhapur. (1st November 2019)
19. Dr.Chetan Nerpagar (Hand Surgeon, MIMER) presented his work on a novel technique devised for arthroscopic assisted fixation of trapezium fracture,at the 43rd Annual Conference of the Indian Society for Surgery of the Hand (ISSHCON) at Puri, Odisha on 14th September 2019.
20. Dr. Yash Shah (Asst.Prof) authored THREE chapters in the recently published Textbook of Orthopedics by (Padmashree) Dr.S.M.Hardikar.
21. Orthopedic research proposal on ‘Adhesive Capsulitis of Shoulder’ undertaken by MBBS student, Ms.Kosha Gala, under the guidance of Dr.P.S.Kamath has been selected by the ICMR for research grants (stipend).
22. Dr. Kamath was invited as a faculty at the prestigious PG teaching course at Sancheti Hospital, Pune, on 16th-17th March’19.
23. Dr. Shrirang Godbole (JR1) won the 2nd Prize for his paper presentation at the 3rd Annual Conference of IMA (TIMACON) on 17th December 2018.
24. Team Ortho MIMER, comprising of Dr. Sidheshwar Thosar and Dr. Sameer Desai, stood third in the STATE-LEVEL PG QUIZ organized by the Maharashtra Orthopedic Association, during the Annual Conference on 3rd November 2018.
25. Dr.Sameer Desai (JR3) was the only student selected from Maharashtra state (except Mumbai) for the penultimate round of the prestigious Torrent Young Scholar Award 2018, amongst 400 Orthopaedics Post Graduate students all over the country.
26. Dr.Swapnil Bhise (Asso.Prof & Unit Head) was invited as an ‘Expert Panelist’ for IAMICON 2018 (5/10/18) PCMC on Panel Discussion- “Learning from experts: Chronic Diseases- Insights, Advances & Challenges”.
27. Our faculty Dr. Swapnil Bhise (Associate Prof.& HoU ) was chairman of a session having eminent international faculty like Dr.Brad Petrisor (Canada) as its speakers.
    The prestigious annual event, Pune Operative Trauma Course, was conducted by Sancheti Institute, between 11th to 13th January ’19.
28. Dr. Gowerdhan Ingale (Asst.Prof.) was a National Faculty and active member of the Organizing Committee of the Silver Jubilee Conference of the prestigious Paediatric Orthopaedic Society of India (POSICON’19) held between 3rd to 6th January ’19 at Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre, Mumbai.
29. Dr. Santosh Borkar, (Professor) presented two of his research works at the 51st Western India Regional Orthopedics Conference at Mumbai (WIROC) on 23rd December 2019 as e Posters.
30. December 2018 – 7th Annual Research Society Conference in MIMER medical college – Won BOTH the First Prizes of the PG category.

    III. Dr. Darpan Maheshgauri (Prof) co-chaired a scientific session. His Review Article was published in the souvenir.
31. Dr. Santosh Borkar’s unique technique for treating patella fractures has been awarded as ‘best poster presentation for the year 2018’ by the state Orthopedic Association on 4th November 2018.
32. Dr. P.S.Kamath, Professor and Head of Orthopaedics Dept. was invited by the Maharashtra Orthopedic Association as Chairman of the ‘Free Paper Session’ at their 35th Annual Conference (MAOCON) held at Pune on 4th November 2018.
33. Dr. Tushar Deore (Associate Prof., MIMER/ Spine Surgeon) was invited by Sri Lanka Orthopaedic Association as an international guest faculty to deliver a lecture in a SPINE SYMPOSIUM, on ‘Management of Spondylolisthesis – Past and Future’ during their 10th Annual Academic Session held at Kandy, on 25th October 2018.
34. Dr.Swapnil Bhise (Asso.Prof & Unit Head- MIMER) was invited as a Guest Speaker at PravaraInstt. of Medical Science, PMT, Loni, on 6th October ’18, to deliver a lecture on “Current Concepts in Treating Complicated Hip Fractures.”
35. Dr. Sidheshwar Thosar won the first prize at GERICON’18 Conference on 15th July 2018.
36. Three of our faculty delivered talks at Dr. Steve Rocha Memorial PGCON.

38. Dr. Swapnil Bhise, was an expert faculty at the Pune Trauma Course – “Advances in Orthopaedic Trauma”, organised by SanchetiInstt., Maharashtra Orthopaedic Society & Pune Ortho. Socy. held in Pune from 26th – 28th Jan 2018.
39. Dr. Darpan Maheshgauri was a faculty and delivered a lecture at a Conference on “Clinico-Radiological Diagnosis in Orthopaedic” Lifepoint Hospital, on 26th Jan’18.
40. Our faculty, Dr. Gowardhan Ingale, Asst. Professor, MIMER Medical College, and Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon, has been elected (unopposed) to The Executive Committee of the prestigious Maharashtra Orthopedic Association in 2017.
41. 7th December 2017 – EIGHT presentations from Department of Orthopedics at the 6th Annual Research Society Conference.Dept. of Orthopedics made FIVE Oral presentations (highest among all departments) and THREE poster presentations.
42. Dr. Siddheshwar Thosar won the 2nd Prize as ‘Best Paper’ (PG) for his presentation titled “Joint Replacement Surgery for Complicated Fractures of Small Joints of Hand”.
